The satellites will be connected via satellite laser links to communicate directly in space. A constellation like this has never been set up before.

Your mission
We are seeking a skilled Senior Engineer - Network Automation (all genders) to join our team and lead the implementation of our software-defined networking (SDN) solution for our constellation. The ideal candidate will have expertise in software-defined networking and RF modelling, as well as experience in software development and network deployment. The ideal candidate should have a multidisciplinary knowledge in RF, Network and software development and the capability to simplify complex system in useful models for our digital twin development. 
 
This includes: 
• Configure and implement software-defined networking (SDN) solutions for our constellation network with the support of our SDN provider
• Create and maintain models of network and RF infrastructure to optimize network performance and scalability
• Monitor network performance and identify areas for improvement
• Work closely with the software development team to integrate new features and functionality into the network
• Develop and implement configuration management processes and procedures
• Perform network testing and analysis to identify and resolve issues
• Develop and maintain documentation for network infrastructure and configuration 
What you bring on the table
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, or a related field
  • Several years of experience in software-defined networking and network modelling
  • Experience in network design, deployment, and configuration management
  • Good understanding of RF system, DVB-S2X protocol and link budget
  • Familiarity with network protocols and technologies such as TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF and MPLS
  • Advanced knowledges of Graphana and Kibana implementation 
  • Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, Java, or C++
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment

Rivada is working with Terran Orbital to manufacture and SpaceX to launch our satellites. The deployment starts in 2025 with full-service launch in 2026.
