Your mission
As part of an interdisciplinary team, you will be responsible for the procurement process, preparation, negotiation, and post contract award management of contracts, for the development of space and ground segment hardware and software systems, the provision of technical/consultancy services and studies.  

You will support and advise the Program and/or Project Managers you will be assigned to. You are considered part of this team, but with an independent hierarchical reporting line at corporate level. This secures the appropriate level of independence in terms of ensure impartiality, transparency, and compliance with the procurement process.

This includes: 
  • Preparing the various elements of the relevant procurement and contract documentation in close cooperation with the responsible Program and/or Project manager and their respective teams 
  • Management of signed contracts with the designated technical officer including the negotiation of all amendments, the processing of the respective changes to the contract, and escalation of critical issues to management, as necessary 
  • Detailed evaluation of respective commercial implications for each issue and early appropriate escalation in a timely manner 
  • Providing guidelines to apply the relevant, up-to-date legal and industrial policy measures throughout the tendering and contractual implementation process
  • Contributing to decision-making processes in close collaboration with higher management for all matters of procurement or contractual relevance 
  • Organizing and coordinating all stages of the procurements, through invitations to tender, requests for quotation, and any other procurement instruments as applicable, ensuring proposals are received and admissible, evaluating them and placing the resulting contract(s) with the selected bidder(s) 
  • Ensuring compliance with corporate contractual and financial rules and procedures, regulations, policies, and strategies; effectively implementing internal control, proper design and functioning of a client-oriented procurement/tendering and contracting process 
  • Building a trusting relationship with the Program and/or Project manager and their respective teams, advising them on procurement/contractual matters and the procurement procedures 
What you bring on the table
  • A master's degree in law, economics or from a business school is required 
  • 7+ years’ experience preferably in the preparation, negotiation and post contract award management of development and service contracts in the areas of satellite, ground segment facilities, aerospace, or high technology products within a multi-lingual and international context 
  • Ability to understand complex technical issues and convert these into clear documents on procurement matters and contractual text 
  • Experience in the setting-up, the negotiation and the implementation of large contracts 
  • Good negotiation skills, and well-balanced interpersonal and communication skills, combined with a strong customer focus, while also ensuring compliance with the procurement procedures 
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with ability to work independently but also in a team; hands-on mentality and sense of responsibility 
  • Willingness to travel 
  • Operational efficiency including excellent planning and organizational skills 
  • Ability to work efficiently in English, other languages (particularly German) would be an asset

Rivada Space Networks is deploying the first true “OuterNET™”: a global low latency point-to-point connectivity network of LEO satellites. By connecting our satellites with lasers, we will provide resellers and B2B customers with the ability to securely connect any two points on the globe with low latency and high bandwidth. The constellations, comprising 600 low-earth-orbit communications satellites, will represent a fundamental change in the availability of secure, global, end-to-end enterprise-grade connectivity for Telecom, Enterprise, Maritime, Energy and Government Services markets. Rivada Space Networks is a wholly owned subsidiary of Rivada Networks, Inc. 

Rivada is working with Terran Orbital to manufacture and SpaceX to launch our satellites. The deployment starts in 2025 with full-service launch in 2026.
