Your mission
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Software Quality Assurance Engineer to join our dynamic and innovative team and lead the implementation of Acceptance and Test-Driven Development (ATDD & TDD) practices in our software development lifecycle. As a Lead Software Quality Assurance Engineer at Rivada Space Networks, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality software by supporting the planning, execution, and continuous improvement of our software QA processes.
 
This includes:
  • Leadership: provide technical leadership to a team of QA software engineers, offering guidance and direction throughout the development process and aligning best practices across the different teams. 
  • Be actively involved in the definition and fulfillment of the team's strategy and bringing technical perspective into account.
  • Follow and promote best practices and communicate effectively with cross-functional teams, fostering a culture of quality across the software development lifecycle.
  • Give feedback, actively seeking to improve the entire team by regularly sharing knowledge and mentoring others.
  • A&TDD Process Leadership: Drive the adoption of Acceptance & Test-Driven Development practices across the development team; develop and implement comprehensive TDD strategies for various projects.
  • Test Planning and Design: Collaborate with development teams to create detailed test plans and test cases; ensure that test designs align with project requirements and adhere to TDD principles.
  • Testing Tools and Automation: Select and implement appropriate testing tools for unit, integration, and end-to-end testing; integrate testing tools into the continuous integration pipeline for automated testing.
  • Continuous Integration: Oversee the implementation and maintenance of a robust continuous integration system; ensure timely and automated execution of tests upon each code commit.
  • Metrics and Reporting: Establish and monitor key metrics, including test coverage and defect resolution times; provide regular reports to stakeholders on the quality of software releases.
  • Documentation: Oversee the creation and maintenance of comprehensive test and software documentation; ensure documentation reflects the TDD process, test plans, and test results.
  • Training and Skill Development: Develop and deliver training programs on TDD principles and best practices; promote ongoing skill development for team members in testing and development.
  • Review and Audit: Conduct periodic audits to ensure adherence to TDD practices; drive continuous improvement based on audit findings and feedback.
What you bring on the table
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
  • Proven experience as a Quality Assurance Engineer with at least 5 years of experience
  • In-depth knowledge of Test-Driven Development and Acceptance Test Driven Development principles and practices
  • Proficiency in selecting and implementing testing tools for different testing levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive process improvements and foster a collaborative environment
  • Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and CI/CD pipelines and software development methodologies, such as Agile or Scrum
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent written and spoken English

The constellations, comprising 600 low-earth-orbit communications satellites, will represent a fundamental change in the availability of secure, global, end-to-end enterprise-grade connectivity for Telecom, Enterprise, Maritime, Energy and Government Services markets. Rivada Space Networks is a wholly owned subsidiary of Rivada Networks, Inc. 

Rivada is working with Terran Orbital to manufacture and SpaceX to launch our satellites. The deployment starts in 2025 with full-service launch in 2026.
