Who we are
Welcome to one of Europe’s most innovative space companies. Rivada Space Networks is building the Outernet, a new class of communications infrastructure—the world’s first truly private and secure satellite network built for enterprises and governments. Our international team ranges from industry newcomers to experts who have dedicated their careers to advancing satcom technology.

Your mission
As a Security Architect, you will play a key role in ensuring that Rivada’s “OuterNET” system—spanning satellites, user terminals, and global control centers—meets the highest standards of security, compliance, and operational resilience. You will work across engineering, operations, cloud, and mission teams to embed security into every layer of our space‑based communications network. This is a unique opportunity to shape the security architecture of a world‑first, space‑based meshed laser network.

This includes:
  • Ensuring the “OuterNET” system design, security baseline, and operations comply with relevant regulations and RSN Security Policies.
  • Supporting system security design and IV&V by integrating security requirements into design, development, implementation, and testing of space systems.
  • Coordinating with third‑party vendors to ensure compliance with Rivada’s security requirements.
  • Defining operational security monitoring elements, SOC tooling needs, and incident response plans aligned with the BCP and security baseline.
  • Validating security‑related Work Orders, contributing to the Ops Change Board, and providing Level 3 engineering support.
  • Participating in incident analysis and continuous improvement loops.
  • Designing and enforcing Zero Trust principles, including granular access controls and micro‑segmentation.
  • Contributing to cloud security strategies in AWS and Azure, including policy design, testing, and fine‑tuning of cloud‑native security services.
  • Supporting security risk assessments for vulnerabilities, threats, and supply chain risks across the space program.
  • Assisting in maintaining RSN Security Policies and Procedures.
  • Preparing and maintaining documentation for internal and external audits.
  • Coordinating with external suppliers to ensure compliance with Rivada’s security standards for software, hardware, and services.

What you bring on the table
  • A degree in cybersecurity, computer science, telecommunications, electrical engineering, or a related field.
  • Several years of experience in security architecture, system security engineering, or operational security roles.
  • Strong understanding of security frameworks, risk management, and compliance requirements.
  • Experience with Zero Trust architectures and modern access‑control methodologies.
  • Hands‑on experience with cloud security (AWS and/or Azure), including policy design and security service configuration.
  • Familiarity with IV&V processes, system‑level security design, and operational security workflows.
  • Experience supporting SOC operations, incident response, or security monitoring.
  • Ability to work cross‑functionally with engineering, operations, and external partners.
  • Strong documentation, communication, and stakeholder‑coordination skills.
  • Fluency in English.
Additional desirable skills:
  • Experience in space systems, satellite communications, or aerospace environments.
  • Knowledge of supply chain security, secure software development, or hardware assurance.
  • Experience with security audits, compliance frameworks, or certification processes.
  • Background in network security, cloud architecture, or systems engineering.
  • Familiarity with operational processes, workflow definition, or change‑management boards.

Why you should join us
Working with us gives you the opportunity to help redefine what communications looks like and make decisions that will have a lasting global impact.
We value equality and collaboration at work where different opinions, backgrounds, and experiences are not only welcomed but often necessary to achieve ambitious milestones. Everyone is encouraged to contribute, question, and shape how we move forward—an essential approach to thriving in a fast-paced industry.
About us

Rivada Space Networks is deploying the Outernet: the first unified global communications network. Rivada's global low-latency point-to-point network of 600 low earth orbit (LEO) satellites is a unique next-generation constellation combining inter-satellite laser links with advanced onboard processing and routing to create a ubiquitous optical mesh network in space. This "orbital network," in which data stays in space from origin to destination, creates an ultra-secure satellite network with pole-to-pole coverage, offering end-to-end latencies much lower than terrestrial fiber over long distances. And by routing traffic on a physically separated network, it provides a layer of defense for any organization that needs to securely share data between widely distributed sites.
